Green Rwanda is a program by the youth volunteers to make Rwanda and the world at large green planting trees and protecting forests and environment. We have a mission to make Rwanda Green inorder to enhance a greener and cleaner envrionment by supporting Rwanda’s commitment to conserve the environment has also been seen through the protection and restoration of degraded ecosystems such as wetlands, lakes and natural forests.
Rwanda’s mission to maintain a clean and healthy environment has been going since 2008 when it banned the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags and packaging materials. We have a goal to make Rwanda green 100% by the help of the public by 2050 and we believe we can do it. This will not only help Rwanda but the world at large and help reduce environmental pollution.
Trees are vital. As the biggest plants on the planet, they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilise the soil and give life to the world's wildlife. They also provide us with the materials for tools and shelter.
Conserving water is important because it keeps water pure and clean while protecting the environment. Conserving water means using our water supply wisely and be responsible.
Recycling is very important as waste has a huge negative impact on the natural environment. Harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses are released from rubbish in landfill sites..
